| While the number of Straight Egyptians is small - only about two percent of the population, the Egyptian is known as the Classic source of type and structure that compliments all other strains. Egyptians have won far beyond their numbers in national and regional competition. Ramsey's Arabians has specialized in these proven lines in over 30 years -winning in Class 'A' and Regional Shows in the US and Canada. Anna, a Vancouver Island Native and Bob Ramsey spent the last fifteen years developing the farm in Reno, Nevada, and have just returned to the Island with two Egyptian Stallions and six mares to reunite with their family. They bring the stallion Merlin SF - Nevada's leading sire of Egyptian Champions. For the past three decades, we have seen powerful results crossing Merlin SF into all five Arabian lines. He is an Ansata Ibn Halima grandson out of the rare Morafic daughter Il Mara, bred by Summerset Farms of California. He has improved the next generation with nearly fifty foals, many have won performance and halter championships in Class 'A' shows in the US and Canada. We also stand the Egyptian-Related stallion Ibn BF Julius - a grandson of Ibn Monet el Nefous, out of Kellani - a double Fadjur mare. His exceptional refinement adds type and size to his mares..At age 27, he has recently sired new pinto babies with type and colour! In addition, we have quality young stock available for sale from both of these fine stallions. We feel this great degree of type and quality is best showcased in a small herd setting, and we prefer to produce a limited number of high quality individuals. Much like a smaller, "boutique" vineyard or specialty store- the emphasis is on outstanding individuals that represent higher quality in small numbers. We are set amid the farms and vineyards on Vancouver Island in the North Saanich Peninsula, where our small farm brings over 30 years of selective breeding Egyptian Arabian horses. We began with Arabians in 1975 and advanced to straight Egyptians in 1990. This select group of horses trace back to the Arabian desert and carry this purest of blood from centuries past to today. Our family farm consists of Bob and Anna Ramsey, breeding and raising the young stock and showing at halter. Advanced training is done by daughter and son-in-law Liza and Gary Lapham who bring horse and rider together in a nicely finished package, training at their facility on Old West Saanich Road. For Liza, instruction is the primary focus. Bloodlines have been carefully selected to serve as good companions and quick learners, many from our lines. Arabians are best known for their quick learning and versatility. They excel in a wide range of activities, from English and Western pleasure to endurance, dressage, reigning and trail.
